Why Furniture Restoration?
Since 2019, we have been publishing furniture restoration videos to help people learn how to repair furniture. Scott believes furniture restoration is a disappearing craft and has a passion for keeping this skill alive. While our YouTube videos provide some information about furniture restoration, we've built an experience that provides deeper, more detailed information in several formats; written, video, live meetings, and coaching.
There is an abundance of quality wood furniture that is inexpensive to buy. Just look at online marketplaces selling used furniture. By learning some furniture restoration skills, you can transform these pieces into beautiful furniture for your home. Take it a step further and these skills can become your own furniture repair business, like we have done at Wooden It Be Nice Inc.
Looking for a new hobby? Furniture restoration might be for you. To get started, you need a small space to work and only a few tools. You can find furniture to repair for free on online marketplaces, from friends or family, and sometimes on the roadside. We have courses to get you started and a community of people who love furniture repair to give you the right answers versus what you'll find on the internet.
We DO NOT advocate painting wooden furniture. We believe that wooden furniture should be repaired properly to show the beauty of the wood. There are a few cases where paint makes sense, but that is the exception, not the rule, in our opinion.
We're here to help.
Coaching Session - Customer Review
I can't believe how lucky I was to have found someone like Scott to help me repair my grandmother's rocking chair. I had been an admirer of his videos for months when I discovered I could get advice from him personally!
Not only was I able to get advice from a master in his craft but he was so patient with my level of expertise. He met me where I was in my woodworking experience and gave me several different ideas for how to go about the repair. No question was too insignificant for Scott from removing excess epoxy putty to staining. Scott was also so prepared when our Zoom call began - he had clearly examined the photos I sent in preparation.
Finally, it was clear that Scott was truly invested in my project and I can't say enough how much I appreciated that.
I highly recommend Scott's advice sessions for experts and novices alike.
