Furniture Repair Courses
Introduction to Furniture Repair (FR01)
This course is instructed by Scott Bennett, the craftsman on the Fixing Furniture YouTube channel. The Introduction to Furniture Repair course (FR01) teaches the fundamentals of how to disassemble and glue up wood furniture to renew stability and lengthen the life of the wood furniture. This is foundational knowledge required before taking on more complex furniture repair projects.
The course has been designed to mimic a classroom learning experience as much as possible in a virtual environment. This course is available in two different formats:
- AÂ self-paced format, where you watch videos and work on exercises independently
- An instructor-supported format, in addition to watching videos and working independently, includes weekly Zoom meetings with the class to discuss the course content, address questions, and provide help
The Introduction to Furniture Repair course includes:
- 16 instructional videos
- 4 chair repair projects  (you are responsible for sourcing the chairs, as described in the course)
- 8 hands-on repair exercises
- A list of tools and materials needed for each project
- 3 downloadable reference sheets
- A certificate of completion
